Dan Kreft was the speaker for our Apologetics Camp. He taught us many things about biblical apologetics. He emphasized that Apologetics is not what you think; it's not about having all the answers or being able to prove the Bible is true. Apologetics is about knowing what the Bible says and believing that it is the inspired word of God without error.
As a specific example of biblical apologetics at work, Dan turned to the days of creation. He taught that God defines the word "day" in Genesis 1:5. This means that you can’t add millions of years to the six days of creation, because God defined them as literal 24-hour days. Why does this matter? It matters because the whole entirety of the gospel rests upon this foundation. If you don't believe that God made the world in six 24-hour days, then the whole gospel is at stake. We had an awesome camp! Young and old learned so much from Dan Kreft and everyone deepened their knowledge of the Bible.
Everyone played indoor and outdoor games and the younger kids enjoyed the ponies! Some of the older kids had a blast loading and unloading hay for the animals. It was lots of work, but it was fun to ride in the trailer!
Many of us spent long hours in the kitchen processing fruit. We now have a bountiful collection of applesauce, apple pies, pumpkin pies, grape juice, and fruit leather! We will have a tasty winter. Thank you to those who helped out in this area.
Come out for the Marriage Retreat and we will make some more applesauce and apple cider! Yum…
