August Character Camp

Are you looking for ways to impact the NEXT generation? Join us for an opportunity to invest in the Native American children of the Colville Reservation. During the week-long Character Camp, kids from Nespelem will come to enjoy the Ranch activities and learn about good Character through the word of God.

Character camps have really gotten me a lot more comfortable sharing my faith and just talking to people in general.These camps provide so many opportunities to share the gospel with children, teenagers, and adults in a very relaxed setting. Nothing can match the feeling of sharing the gospel with someone who has never really heard it before, and this was something I experienced for the first time during a character camp.

Being out there is just so peaceful. Early in the mornings, as the sun is rising, I enjoy time spent with God reading my Bible, going for a walk, or hanging out on the dock by the river. When I’m at the ranch, I am free from the distractions I normally have at home, and can focus more on my relationships with God and the people around me. I have formed several strong friendships during character camps and strengthened already existing ones.

Looking back, I can see how God used those difficult seasons in my own life to prepare me for these moments.

Character Camps have also given me the chance to grow in sharing my faith in ways I normally wouldn’t, since I don’t often interact that closely with unbelievers on a daily basis. The games are fun, the kids are full of energy, and the fellowship at the end of each day with friends is so rewarding.

Opportunities to help with the Character Camp include:

• • Helping with craft and game stations
  • Helping with archery, tomahawk/knife throwing
  • Monitoring riverside activity
  • Helping with song time
  • Assisting in the kitchen
  • Teaching character classes
  • Discipling kids

Additionally, we will be working on construction and repair projects at Peniel Ranch. Come for a day or stay for the whole week. Our vision is for families to serve the Lord together! Teens 15 and older can come under the supervision of another family, but kids 14 and younger need to go with an adult family member.
