April Character Camp

Are you looking for ways to impact the NEXT generation? Join us for an opportunity to invest in the Native American children of the Colville Reservation. During the week-long Character Camp, kids from Nespelem will come to enjoy the Ranch activities and learn about good Character through the word of God.

" (Gen. 32:30) Peniel Ranch has been the turning point in my walk with Christ. It was there God showed me His majesty through the awe-inspiring grandeur of the surrounding country. As I began to understand His greatness, I also began to see Him as faithful and sovereign. This view of God would be tested at Peniel as well. It was there that He challenged me to give up the control I still claimed, and follow Him. He called for me to put the faith I professed into action, and to trust Him to guide me well. Staffing character camps constantly pushed me beyond my limits and comforts. It forced me to choose - would I love sacrificially or half-heartedly. In the times that the Holy Spirit guided my decision, I received the joy that comes through obeying Christ. Because of this, the Ranch served as a spiritual oasis for me - just as it stands in lively contrast to the surrounding desert. Despite now being separated by thousands of miles, I still pray that the Ranch will be an ever-brightening beacon shining into the darkness of the reservation. "I have loved attending Character Camps every summer, and it has truly become one of the highlights of my year! Each summer, I’ve been given meaningful opportunities to share the gospel, both in group settings and through personal conversations with individual kids. Being able to share my testimony—especially with children who are walking through hardships similar to ones I’ve experienced—has been incredibly impactful. Looking back, I can see how God used those difficult seasons in my own life to prepare me for these moments.

Character Camps have also given me the chance to grow in sharing my faith in ways I normally wouldn’t, since I don’t often interact that closely with unbelievers on a daily basis. The games are fun, the kids are full of energy, and the fellowship at the end of each day with friends is so rewarding.

Opportunities to help with the Character Camp include:

• Helping at craft and game stations
• Helping with archery, tomahawk/knife throwing
• Helping with song time
• Assisting in the kitchen
• Teaching character classes
• Discipling kids

Additionally, we will be working on construction and repair projects at Peniel Ranch. Come for a day or stay for the whole week. Our vision is for families to serve the Lord together! Teens 15 and older can come under the supervision of another family, but kids 14 and younger need to come with an adult family member.
