This week was a bit of a whirlwind: lots of changes but a wonderful week with the kids. The theme was “Born-Again Birthday,” and those who gave the message highlighted the need for everyone to have two birthdays. The attendance, as far as kids went, was lower the first two days. But we went along with our program as usual. The kids really enjoyed the puppet show that we put on for them! We also did field games, waterfront, crafts, and baking with them. The week was cut short because of a program the Tribe put on which we were able to attend. It was a lot of fun to play with the kids. Sowe only were able to do our program Monday through Wednesday. We changed our big birthday celebration to that day. We had a miracle. We went from 10 kids the first day, 17 the next, and then finally, we got the text on Wednesday (expecting maybe a couple more kids than 10) that Nespelem was bringing down 36 kids!! Then Keller brought 10, so we had 46 in total, plus leaders. It’s so amazing to see God answer prayer so clearly and do much beyond what we ask or think! It’s a faith-building moment. We threw a party for the kids with homemade cake and gifts! The kids really enjoyed that, and it was a great way to conclude the week with them!
